I'm surprised I hadn't heard it before... Apparently I live on a farm and I don't go out much

( Actually I do live on a farm and I don't go out much, but in 2020 for different reasons )
There is a saying going around that I had never heard of before so when I heard it for the first time it hovered over me then planted deep down in the soil of my heart . ( It was a flower farmer who shared it with me. )
There is so much truth to this little quip, so much power , punch, pow ! that it really can change your life if you let it , if you choose to live by it that is ...It's something that I've been easing into but she put it into words and it made perfect sense to me.
So here it is, I hope it feels like fresh smelling garden dirt on your face . ( Well not in your face but you know what I mean . )
My new Farm Girl friend said this to me as we were talking about the business of farming , friendships traveling , life, Jesus , ( Yes women can have conversations like this in one big breath ) all while sitting in my studio observing the friendship between her daughter and her BFF since kindergarten, the girls were felting projects . OK OK, so the phrase went
like this ...
"We don't need 100 pennies in our lives, we just need 4 quarters." ( insert smiley face here_)
Now I can go on and on as to how this really made sense to me and how I have been navigating through relationships in our short time here in the PNW , the virus and shepherding sheep blah blah blah or I can let you water it for a while in your own heart then let you invite yourself over for some hot C or T and we can chat about it ...
I know she and I would have gone on for an hour if the night hadn't come in and the girls needed to be in at a decent hour but Im sure we will pick up where we dropped off . My Farm sista gave me a gift and put into words what Ive known in my heart, it really isn't about the masses , unless you want to be popular of rich , its about more than that and I would love to hear what this looks like in your life and share whats going on in mine.
For now lets just say that as I mature ( get older ) friendships are taking on a new meaning in my life and I think its time to make some "change " ( get it ? change ? )

Lets chat soon.
